TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
I am a professional European artist with a growing reputation. My paintings have been exhibited in several renowned museums and are part of private collections worldwide.
For this particular project, I chose to use the pseudonym PAN for symbolic reasons. Pan, the Greek god who is half man and half goat, embodies the profound connection between humanity and nature—a theme that deeply resonates with my work.
WHAT INSPIRES YOU TO DO YOUR ARTWORKS?
I’ve always been deeply fascinated by humanity’s connection to nature and how intertwined we are. I see humans as part of the animal kingdom—intelligent animals, yet still bound by instincts and emotions. Despite this connection, our intelligence often leads us to distance ourselves from the natural world, sometimes with devastating consequences.
In my work, I explore the boundaries of taboo, aiming to challenge societal perceptions and provoke deeper conversations about our primal instincts and our relationship with nature. Through the pseudonym PAN, I embody the tension between civilization and the wild, inviting viewers to reflect on what it means to be human, to feel, and to connect on a raw, instinctual level. Perhaps this is our chance to find a common language with nature? Body language and instinct.
DO YOU ONLY WORK ON CANVAS? DO YOU DO OTHER ART?
While oil painting on canvas is my primary medium and lifelong passion, I occasionally explore other forms of art, such as drawing and watercolor. Each medium allows me to express different aspects of my vision.
I also work in sculpture, and I’m considering completing my PAN collection with a sculptural masterpiece that embodies the themes and emotions I explore in my paintings.
WHAT DO YOU SAY TO PEOPLE WHO SAY ART WITH EROTICISM IS NOT ART?
Erotica has always been an integral part of art and always will be. Throughout history, some of the greatest artists—perhaps 90% of them—have explored eroticism in their work. Without it, the art world as we know it wouldn’t exist. Artists have fought for centuries for the freedom to depict the human form, using nudity as a way to express raw emotion, vulnerability, and connection through body language.
Take Klimt, for example: his paintings are imbued with eroticism, and his series of erotic drawings is an explicit yet profound exploration of human intimacy. These works transcend mere provocation—they are masterpieces that delve into the core of human experience.
DO YOU HAVE A DREAM PATRON AND WHAT WOULD YOU CREATE FOR THEM?
I’m fortunate to already have some famous collectors, but for this particular project, I hope to find patrons who truly resonate with its themes. I seek those who share my deep appreciation for animals and the intrinsic beauty in the fusion of humanity and nature.
For such individuals, I’d create a piece that embodies this connection—a work that captures the raw, primal energy and harmony between human and animal worlds, sparking thought and dialogue about our place within nature.
WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE YOUR ART IN 500 YEARS?
I believe my paintings, along with similar works, will find their place in art museums as part of a broader dialogue about human connection, nature, and taboo. Art has always been a way to challenge societal norms and spark new ways of thinking, and I hope my work continues to provoke meaningful conversations even centuries from now.
In 500 years, perspectives on love, intimacy, and our relationship with nature may evolve in ways we can hardly imagine today. I hope my art will be seen as part of a cultural shift—what some might call a new renaissance—that encouraged a deeper understanding of connection, emotion, and the boundaries we set for ourselves.
WHAT DO YOU SAY TO ALL THE GREAT ANIMAL EROTICA ARTISTS OUT THERE?
This is our mission, to push the boundaries of morality and permissibility and show the world the beauty of love for animals. Art has great power, and artists like us can change the world.
