AUGUST 20th 2025
Ok Gang, the newsletter upgrade I just spent 5 weeks banging my head against – sadly did not work out. Terrible delivery rate – our current system is slow, but mails do actually get delivered. So unfortunately we are back to the super-slow newsletter for this update. It’s a bit of a hiccup to our ‘getting Karma going faster’ efforts, I was really looking forward to seeing Karma flying – but Karma has been going quite fast on NeoPack 1 anyway, even with a week of site downtime.
It’s a bit disappointing, but not all experiments will be successful. We have a few other options to try – we’ll have to try those next time though, as right now we just need to get this newsletter out as quickly as possible. Many thanks for your patience.

Apologies for the recent downtime Gang, a seemingly simple update spiraled into Gremlins-esque pandemonium. 5 weeks delay is not ideal when we are pushing to get Karma running more quickly. I could’ve done without an unexpected 5 week delay myself.
Our regulars all know our email address anyway, so we were still selling NeoPacks and Projects during the downtime. Fingers crossed, this newsletter will kick Karma over the top quite quickly.
We can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, and this is probably the most important technical update for some time. I have been looking for a solution to faster newsletters for years. We won’t know for sure that it worked, until it’s finished sending (it’s sending now). If it doesn’t work – then it will be back to the drawing board.
It’s possible some Members using Microsoft emails (Outlook, Hotmail etc) might not receive the newsletter, due to heavy blocking on Microsoft. But really, all Members should be using Protonmail at this point. A bit too much blocking (e.g. anything to do with Bitcoin), a bit too much spying – Microsoft is really not a suitable email provider for this kind of thing. Protonmail is free, and it’s encrypted.
Anyway – that’s done, so it’s back to business as usual. Apologies again, particularly to any Folx who have been waiting on me. Here is the previous post, for anyone interested…
A quick post to let all our regulars know what’s going on with the current update…
Hi Gang 🙂
You might be aware, with the current update we are doing a bit of a push, to get Karma running a bit faster. So, just to let you know what’s going on, in case you are sitting on the edge of your seat.
We have hit a small snag whilst upgrading our newsletter system – we were hoping it would take a few hours, we are now 2 weeks into it. It’s an important upgrade, so we will keep at it until, fingers crossed, we get it working. You might see the site offline here and there while we are working – don’t panic, just check back a bit later and it will probably be back online again.
Worst case scenario, we might need to roll back to using our old newsletter system, and taking the usual 3 months to get the newsletter out. Which would suck, but we can always try this upgrade again later – IF it doesn’t work this time of course.
It’s a small delay, and it’s monkeying with our “Getting Karma running faster” efforts – but provided we can get things working, and get the newsletter sent out faster than 3 months, we are still winning. I’ve been dreading this update since it went on the list – it’s got ‘pain in the ass’ written all over it.
To save having to make a full-page post like this, for minor network-related news, I’ve added a Network Status page – it’s under the ABOUT menu. I can stick quick snippets in there, in future, save clogging up the Blog.
Apologies to all our Alchemy guys, who all made it through the first stages only to hit this delay. Please speak to a Team Leader if you’re champing at the bit – and not forgetting that it’s summer, and the beach is always an option while you are waiting for me to get back on track.
On the positive side, the Update Countdown I put on the site a little while ago – that seemed to help a bit. We are already over 50% on both Project Grindhound and NeoPack 1, and we have not yet sent out any main newsletters. Fingers crossed that the new fast newsletter is the final ingredient we need to get things cooking.
Please sit tight, you know we have to deal with all kinds of obstacles in our work, and your patience is appreciated 🙂
